Bull Durham
Jan. 8 1991: Joined USAF
1993: I got into racing Bombers with a friend not knowing a thing about it
except for the left turns. Mostly worked on the car.
1994: I bought my own car (bomber) and built it up for the season, we raced
mostly for experience.
1995: I took the same car and ran more competitively, finished 8th in points
out of 25 consistent cars.
1996: I moved up to Street Stocks and had a very
dominating car in both Altus and Wichita Falls. Season cut short due to
military orders.
1997: I was stationed in Tucson Az. Where due to
deployments in support of the war in Bosnia wasn’t able to race
consistently. Was able to crew for a friends team in Limited Latemodels ,
and some dirt cars as well.
1999: I was stationed in Dover, De. and became a C-5 Flight Engineer
so didn’t get to do much racing, again mostly helping out.
2001: Believe it or not I was freakin’ busy, but
I did get to race across the Atlantic Ocean several times. We achieved
speeds in excess of 600 mph at times. For the next 3 years all I really got
to do was go karts (the racing kind) and helping out other teams.
2004: I tricked the USAF into thinking I knew something so they sent me back
to Altus to be an instructor FE. Score!!!!! The same year I was able
to meet up with friends and get back into racing. I bought myself an
asphalt Modified. We gained valuable experience and maybe a little
knowledge.
June 2005: I folded that car up and washed my hands of it, was in the market
of something else when low and behold there were USST guys coming around in
July. Let’s rent the 4 truck and see what happens………..4th place, not bad.
Been hooked ever since!
Sep. 2006: I was forced to make yet another move, this time it’s San
Antonio. Instead of selling and building up down here, have committed to
staying with USST thanks to the help of the members of USST maintaining and
transporting the race truck.
As of now there are no sponsors on this truck for 2007. All of the
funding is derived from the pretty, understanding wife of an E-6 in the USAF……..
Well, at least she’s pretty.
A website will be made available when I figure out just how the hell to
create one.
