Rookie Weller Racks Up First USST Win
Tulsa, Oklahoma - Jeff Weller overcame adversity to put the #6 Hi-Tech Auto
Chevy Silverado in the winners circle at JRP Speedway. Weller and the
REFAB.COM #7 of Eric Caudell applied heavy pressure lap after lap trying to force Weller into making
a mistake. Weller survived 30 laps and 3 restarts after cautions before getting too loose in the middle of turn 1 and 2. The spin brought the back end around and the truck directly in front of Caudell.
Caudell's evasive maneuver spared Weller a collision but disintegrated the rear quarter panel on the #9 of Rick Perry as Perry moved outside to take
the lead. The collision spun Perry and disabled Caudells steering putting the #4 driven by Ryan Hicks of Yukon, Oklahoma in the lead position.
Caudell was out of the race but Perry and Weller continued from the back.
Weller was able to retake the lead convincingly from Hicks with 3 laps remaining
and cruised to his first USST win.

USST provides Exciting Race night for Tulsa
Tulsa, Oklahoma - The United States Super Trucks brought their Midwestern tour
to JRP Speedway in Tulsa last Saturday night. The
fans were not disappointed as these drivers impressed everyone with some close
and fast competition.Mike Bias, in the black number 8 truck, brought the field
to the green flag to start the 30 lap feature. Bias faded fast with mechanical
problems. This opened the door for Roger Upton, driver of the number 67 Super
Truck, to take the inside advantage for the lead. Joe Madore kept his white 01
truck in the outside groove to run beside Upton for a few laps. But Upton got
loose and Madore went high to avoid contact. This was the opportunity the red
number 7 truck of Eric Caudell had been waiting for. He powered his Chevy
Silverado between the two and took the lead coming out of turn four. Caudell
did a masterful job protecting the bottom line for several laps as Madore kept
trying to get a run under him. Rick Perry brought his yellow number 9 through
the field and filled Madore's mirror for the last few laps. But Caudell was not
going to be denied the victory on this night. The United States Super Trucks
continue their Midwestern tour with another battle in Oklahoma on Saturday May
7th at the Altus Speedway in Altus, Oklahoma.
