Lollis Capitalized on White Flag Lap
Kevin Jones #12 started on the outside pole and jumped out in first place. Season Opener winner Brandon Lollis, in the #83 United States Super Truck, started on the tail of the feature and maneuvered his way through traffic with Brad Sams close behind. As the field spread out, lots of passing occurred and a couple of crashes ensued.
Eric Caudell and Tony Springwater drag raced down the back straight at full throttle when wheel contact resulted in the #34 of Springwater losing
traction, and pitching to a slight angle. Caudell lifted off the throttle
right before the #34 grabbed traction and launched into the outside
retaining wall in a jarring impact that had all 4 wheels off the ground.
Springwater was uninjured, but the #34 truck was not so lucky and had to be
hauled off by the wrecker. Later in the race, the #92 Dodge of Ryan Hicks
made contact with the #35 of Charlie Weaver pitching the 92 sideways in front of
the #8 of Roger Pence. Pence slowed greatly but nosed into the door of the Dodge.
To keep both trucks from spinning in traffic, Pence gassed his Chevy and straightened
Hicks out of harms way.
Lollis set his sights on Jones and the two ran in the 1-2 positions while the #55 of Sams and the #8 or Roger Pence wrestled for 3rd. Sams managed to work his way around Pence when a caution came out and erased the pass.
As the race wound down, things got interesting in a different sort of way. With Jones and Lollis racing for the lead, the flagman showed two rolled up flags to symbolize ‘two to go’. Unfortunately, the tip of the white flag had unrolled. A few of the team spotters thought it was the white flag lap. As Jones raced around, he and Lollis crossed the start finish line with Jones' door at Lollis’s front bumper. Jones then lifted off the throttle sure he had won. Unfortunately, that was not the finish! Jones lost 3 positions instantly and finished a painful 4th while Lollis inherited the win.

USST Season Opener
Many hours of rain prior to Saturday's race made for a slippery truck race as dew was
collecting on horizontal surfaces when the 50 lap feature started.
Brandon Lollis and Brad Sams started on the front row after Lollis set fast qualifying
time and both drivers won their respective
heat races. The front row proved the place to be as the rest of the pack fought the slick
track conditions in heavy traffic. The USST
racers have the confidence to run into the corner two and three wide even on the narrow short tracks. Saturday nights cool and
wet conditions made for an exciting night for the fans. Lollis and Sams used the open track to run nose to tail while the other racers
wrestled for positions with lots of fender banging and fishtailing. The worst crash of the night occured on lap 15 as Andy Welch, Bull Durham, and Chris Johnson
went 3 wide into turn 2. Light bumping resulted in Durham and Johnson getting tangled, turned sideways, and head-on into the wall to bring out a red flag.
Neither driver was injured but the trucks will both need a fair amount of metal work. The race resumed with numerous other quick cautions as
the slick conditions took their toll on many trucks. The 83 Truck of Lollis kept a strong pace to go on to win the USST Season Opener.

Hicks Digs Deep for 1st Super Truck Win.
The battle raged for the final 26 laps of the Saturday night feature
at JRP speedway. Hicks fought hard with his #92 Dodge Super Truck while under constant
pressure from the Chevrolets. He held the low line while the strong
Chevy driven by Brian Ledbetter worked to take the line from him.
The outside line was dominated by the Chrevrolet of Eric Caudell.
Hicks and Caudell traded the advantage back and forth in a race of
intestinal fortitude as their hard charging trucks would break into
a slide on any given turn. Which ever truck stuck on any given turn
became the leader by a fender. Ledbetter and The #4 truck of Justin
Wheeler raced in the wings looking for their opening. Hicks took the
white flag and the #50 Hobby Town Super Truck of Russ Dugger made it a
tight 3 wide entry into turn 1. Hicks emerged out front and Caudell
chased unsuccessfully from the outside line while Ledbetter was on the
bumper of Hicks.
Hicks feature win was his first as a Rookie in a Super Truck. He also
succeeded in dethroning the All Star Electric super truck
of Rick Perry that has dominated every JRP race in the 2006 season.
Perry's motor experienced valve spring failure which limited the points
leaders horsepower to an unsatisfactory level.

Darrel Duke puts Ford in Super Truck Winners Circle
Three days of Rain made for a tricky track that many Super
Trucks struggled to find traction on. It was a mix of
manufacturers in the top positions as most the race laps
were run in the order of Toyota, Ford, Chevy, and Dodge.
Crew chiefs Hilt and Duke used their track knowledge to
put the Toyota and Ford in the 1-2 positions with out of
towners Hicks and Caudell chasing a difficult pace.
Brandon Lawless, driving Jerry Hilt's Toyota, had a
strong truck until a rear axle sheared in two forcing him
out of the race. Darrel Duke, a newcomer to USST this
season, took the lead in his Ford.
Caudell charged hard after the cautions but lacked the corner speed to pass
Duke. Caudell's Chevy chased Duke lap after lap but
Duke's Ford was too fast and Duke took the Checkered Flag.

Kevin Jones Eeks Out Win At Altus
The fans at Altus Speedway in Altus, Oklahoma saw the United States Super Trucks put on one of their close and fast races they have become known for. The 40 lap feature was marred by a wreck that involved Rick Perry, Ryan Hicks, and Tony Springwater. These were the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place trucks in the series points standings.
After the restart Kevin Jones drove his number 12 truck to the lead. But for the last 25 laps of the race his mirror was full of the number 7 truck driven by Eric Caudell. Caudell tried to press the issue with moves to the inside or outside on every lap.
Jones was not going to be denied a win this night. On the white flag lap Caudell was able to get the outside position on Jones. As they came out of turn 4 for the checkered flag, Jones nosed his truck ahead to win by a 3 foot margin.

USST provides Exciting Race night for Tulsa
Tulsa, Oklahoma - The United States Super Trucks brought their Midwestern tour
to JRP Speedway in Tulsa last Saturday night. The
fans were not disappointed as these drivers impressed everyone with some close
and fast competition.Mike Bias, in the black number 8 truck, brought the field
to the green flag to start the 30 lap feature. Bias faded fast with mechanical
problems. This opened the door for Roger Upton, driver of the number 67 Super
Truck, to take the inside advantage for the lead. Joe Madore kept his white 01
truck in the outside groove to run beside Upton for a few laps. But Upton got
loose and Madore went high to avoid contact. This was the opportunity the red
number 7 truck of Eric Caudell had been waiting for. He powered his Chevy
Silverado between the two and took the lead coming out of turn four. Caudell
did a masterful job protecting the bottom line for several laps as Madore kept
trying to get a run under him. Rick Perry brought his yellow number 9 through
the field and filled Madore's mirror for the last few laps. But Caudell was not
going to be denied the victory on this night. The United States Super Trucks
continue their Midwestern tour with another battle in Oklahoma on Saturday May
7th at the Altus Speedway in Altus, Oklahoma.
